Here’s What’s in it for You.

The Moorhead Business Association (MBA) is dedicated to increasing the visibility and profitability of its members by advocating for a positive business environment with the City of Moorhead, MN.

Advocacy

The MBA represents the collective Moorhead Business Community in the following committees and assemblies:

  1. Economic Development Authority Membership
  2. Small Business Development Center Advisory Committee
  3. Chamber of Commerce Membership
  4. City Council candidate Forums
  5. Salvation Army Advisory Board
  6. Beyond the Yellow Ribbon – Deployed Soldiers’ Family Support Program
  7. MBA presence at Moorhead City Meetings
  8. Unified support of the MBA
  9. Public outreach

Through unified support of the MBA and public outreach, we have proven our value by improving the business climate in Moorhead. We partnered with city, state, and federal agencies for a successful reopening decision of the ramps that directly support the Moorhead Industrial Park and surrounding businesses. We also procured a letter from Senator Klobuchar, Senator Franken, and Congressman Peterson supporting the Federal Highway corrections bill. We joined the city to help update the Tax Incentive Agreement for Moorhead business expansion assistance. We received special recognition from the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities for our support with Local Government Aid and the Disparity Reduction Credit (Business Property Tax) with the MN State Legislature. We also had a hand in updating the Moorhead Industrial Park’s street signage.

Networking

Networking is a powerful tactic to accelerate and sustain success. Meet the right people to include in your network, expand your influence, and help to grow your business. Meet like-minded neighbors and colleagues with similar goals and aspirations for the Moorhead Business Community. A weekly “Let’s Talk Business” breakfast is held at local businesses to discuss agenda items crucial to our community. Many attendees share successful business strategies from financial planning to employee retention.
